Foam Polyurethane
|
Applications of foam
polyurethane are not limited within a few particular industries, yet are
expanding as the formulation technology proceeds. Foam polyurethane can be very
hard, or very soft. Hard foam polyurethane can be used as load bearing part
such as wheel chocks for large mining trucks and airplanes. Soft urethane can
be used in upholstery, motorcycle seating, cushion parts for various
products. Foams come in a variety of densities (or weight per volume) and
hardnesses. Depending on the application, you can also choose a type of foam from rigid, semi rigid, flexible, or microcellular foam. They all have particular characteristics. |

We carry room-temperature-curable
foam formulations, which can be mixed without special equipment. These
easy-to-use foam formulations allow you an efficient new product developing
and prototyping. Primary foaming reaction
is done without a use of flammable or ozone-depleting substance, and all
necessary chemicals to make foam is within the components. Therefore, you do
not need special heating or gassing equipment, or a spark free environment. |

Many seating
manufacturers use slab stock foams. We do not carry slab stocks. What we carry
is moldable polyurethane liquid materials to make your own custom-made foam
parts. Our materials are generally higher densities than slab stocks. So it
does not "bottom-out" easily like lower density foams. Used with our Gel Polyurethane systems, our customer can create very special cushioning
parts and products.
High density rigid foam can
be used in mold-backing. Foam polyurethane can be used as an economical way of
mold-making. It has almost the same physical properties of a hard wood. I can
also take some cheep solid materials (such as recycled rubber crumbs or small
wooden pieces) as filler to increase cost efficiency.
We also carry low-density cast-in-place
packaging foam formulations. This
type of foam materials are used to make custom foam packaging for fragile and
delicate items where custom package is required, but it is too expensive to
mass-produce molded styrene, polyethylene, or polypropylene foam packaging.
Our focus is on
manufacturers of specialty products. We modify our standard formulations to fit
the specifications of the customer. Customizing hardness and density is done
for almost every customer and application. Color specification and UV
protection are also available.
